Pet Food Cookbook - dog Questions

Question #1:

Has anyone had their dog's tooth pulled?

Hi my 6 month old beagle had an accident running directly into a car (very hard). We went to a emergency pet hospital that day because he was bleeding all over and thankfully he only ended up with a sore noggin and a broken canine tooth. I went to the vet and they said the best thing to do is have it pulled because the pulp is exposed and is causing him pain. I was wondering if anyone else has gone through something similar and how much it cost. Thanks.

Question #2:

How do I get my older dog to quit peeing on my new puppy?

We just got a new puppy, and already have a 1 yr old puppy. They get along great, but every time the puppy goes to pee, the older dog goes up next to him, lifts his leg and pees on the young one. How do I get him to stop?

Question #3:

What do the pet stores and shelters do at night with the dogs?

I'm going on Friday for my new puppy. I can strongly feel like my pup is out there waiting for me...even though I have never seen it yet...
I'm worried it's too cold or not hot enough for it. (it's almost 20 degrees here!!)...Did you ever wonder what the conditions in the stores/shelters are like at night (cold or warm)...I just want it home with me, nice and warm and well taken care of!

What do the stores and shelters do at night with all of the dogs?

Question #4:

Should a man give up his life long dream of having a child if the woman he loves finds out she can't have one?

My lady and her 3 year old daughter moved in with me and my two kids now for apporox 2 and a half years, and we all live as a family. (Before she came I raised my two daughters alone as a single father, and proud of it. I enjoy my fatherhood, and want more). However, after years of trying, we have not been able to successfully conceive a child together. Yeah, we are seeking medical help, but its been slow. Why is it imortant? You see, after my break-up with my ex, i've always wanted to start again. To have a lady, for her to settle and share my home, to have kids, to have a family...you know, that perfect vision of kids, a home, a car and a dog...but it doesn't seem to be happening. Its been almost three years now, and I'm now facing up to the fact that for whatever reason we may not be able to have any (we've had the checks, and nothing seems to be wrong with either of us). And the difficulty is, should i bury my want and life-long dream to have a child (she isn't as keen as me, she says she's happy just being with me...but she would have one to make me happy), or should i force myself to just to be content that I have a happy relationship with her? ...and accept that that is my alloted part in life. Or then again should I say to myself, 'we only live once, i want want a child and so whatever means i'll get one'. I know the latter makes me sound really bad, but no matter how much i try to secreatly bury it under the carpet, the desire to start again (with children) is to strong. Quite righty, my lady fears at the end of the day I should be happy with her (with or without kids), ...which I am. She fears, if it is discovered that she can't have any more kids for whatever reason, (remembering she already has a 3 year old daughter from a past relationship), I'll eventually reject her, and either be with someone who can give me a baby, or I'll cheat (and get someone pregnant). All I say is, I don't know how I'll be in the future...in fact, no one can say that they'll be around tomorrow, never mind considering how I'll be with her in the future. But I do admit, I feel a right sod, but i can't help it...and yes, she did know this is what i wanted at the start of the relationship. Can I have some opinions please. I'll be most greatful. And sorry...I don't mean to sound like a crap guy.

Question #5:

Question #8:

Can a person with no hands sign a marriage contract?

Or someone who grew up uneducated, and never learned to write . . . can (s)he sign a marriage contract?

I fully support marriage between two consenting adults, no matter what gender . . . and I agree that gay couples are nothing like a human/animal relationship. But why do pro-gay marriage people say, "Well, can a dog sign a marriage contract? NO! So that's why animals can't get married!"

Am I making sense? Not all humans can sign marriage contracts . . . but they can still get married.

I agree that humans and animals should not get married, I just hate that argument. Does anyone agree?

Question #11:

Dealing with certain black people and my education.?

I'm a 16yr old who goes to high school determing to to do 4 years of college later on and want to do 2 successful careers that I would love. The only problem is,not all but most of the black people don't like me just because I'm not like them and I'm suppose to be "acting too white" or not "ghetto enough" crap.In a sophisticated manner, I try to grow thicker skin, ignore negative comments, and violence. All races can act the same exact way but blacks are the most defined to individuals.Anyway in US history class this ugly black London boy said it's not African,he's not(when earlier September he said he had African roots and accent) to the teacher when he was making these stupid noises into a song.I asked nicely as an opinion and joke what's wrong with being African. He answerd negatively how I look African then totally explained to him that my dad is Jamaican Cherokee and my mother is of Dominican West Indian.Once he heard the hispanic race he said I'm lying wishing that I was and I'm African and look African when most Dominicans are the same of my reddish caramel complexion and some dark skin.I'm not ugly but people like him like to do that only in front of people and make him feel like he's higher.
He shouldn't of been talking of being ugly and judging dark skin because he really compares of the two.I wish I never cussed at him because it made me look like I was crazy as the stupid teacher telling me to shut up and he'll bring security just for cursing 2 times,he never says anything to this boy and the other blacks who in the classroom act uncivilized get away with everything. The teacher is right in the same place when this is all occuring so why argue with me like a dog. Says medium dark skin ppl(he's dark skin of deep ebony skin) can't be mixed and threatens to kill my dad which mad made me feel offended and get all up in his face quick, luckily a two fellow friends hold me back.I'm tired of going through this everyday with blacks acting this way even though regardless they will continue. Not all but I just wish this contagious hate, skin color issues, stereotypes, and ignorancy black on black crap will stop and banish.Have to go through this every single day.P.S. I'm not racist but I want to learn how to stop using the word "ghetto" to target at some blacks who act of nonsense because I know there are diffrent types of them and we're only human beings but only if America didn't brainwash some so badly.
I never said I hated my own race and don't like myself because of it Jay.

Question #12:

What kind of toys should Rottie mixes have?

My Rottie mix loves balls. She has one squeaky ball that I got her when she was a pup that she loves to play with. But with plush toys she chews them up as fast as she gets them.

I do have rope and tire toys but she doesn't play with them.

My brother's dog is a blue heeler and he has a plush toy and he doesn't chew it but he loves to play with it and fetch it.

Question #13:

Question #15:

Can dogs eat pork chops?

Can they? i dont mean the bone i mean just the meat

Question #16:

Why is it so hard to adopt a rescue/shelter puppy?

For the past few months I have been looking for a puppy to adopt in the Philadelphia area and have talked to quite a few shelters/rescues. However, once we get into the conversation, they make me feel like I'm not a good dog owner. Especially since I wouldn't consider adopting an older dog as opposed to a puppy. What's wrong with that?

Also, they make me feel like I'm not taking care of the dog I have now. My dog is 11 years old and I take care of her everyday of my life.

And to top it all off, most of these places have such high expectations, and militant restrictions in order to adopt a dog let alone a puppy. They want to come visit my house and "determine" if it's suitable. They want my family to be making a certain income. They want to call my veterinarian and poke around in my private life asking if we take care of our dog the "way we should."

I find this extremely offensive considering I love animals to death and my dog is a very important part of my family.

I don't want to buy a puppy from a pet store, but do you ever think that these shelters/rescues go a little too far in preventing good people who would be excellent pet owners from having a dog?

Maybe that's what drives them to pet stores in the first place.

Question #17:

Question #19:

Do you think this would creep out my co-workers?

Ok, if I were to bring in my deceased dog's ashes in a plain wooden box and place it on my desk at work, do you think my co-workers would be too creeped out? Should I introduce them to Gypsy?
I appreciate all the answers, some are pretty funny. I'm always trying to find ways to spice up the work day but I didn't mean for anyone to take this question seriously, it was just a silly question. I do miss my dog dearly, and I do have her ashes, but they would never leave my home. ;)
